Dolby Laboratories Choose 10th Planet for first Blu-ray.

Dolby labs have chosen 10th Planet Digital Media to manage the production of the company’s Partner demo disc project on Blu-ray. After a multi-way pitch, including some of the larger A brand replication outfits, 10th Planet was chosen by Dolby, in part due to digital media facility’s ability to navigate through the complex requirements for AACS.

“Richard Lamb at 10pdm was far more responsive and helpful compared to some of the larger organisations we spoke to about this project” says Nicola Finn from Dolby Labs. “He talked us through the replication process stage by stage and made the complexities of the AACS licensing process seem like a breeze, and since 10dpm costs were very competitive the choice was an easy one”

“10th Planet’s experience in optical disc spans over 10 years and meant that we were able to hit the ground running when BD became the victorious HD format” adds Richard Lamb, Sales Director. “We’re not a huge company and our loyal client base appreciates the depth of experience in the disc industry, coupled with the personal service that we bring to all projects.”

The Blu-ray showcases Dolby Laboratories’ TrueHD which delivers lossless multichannel sound over HDMI and features clips from Legend of Zorro and the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra.
